The Wilson Lake Area Association actively promomotes the lake by hosting fundraisers, contests and events at the lake.

Yearly events include the 4th of July Boat Poker Run, fireworks display, Eco Meet for area high schools, Clean Up Day, BBQ Contest, Mobile Petting Zoo, Boat Shows in Wichita and Salina,   and an Annual Dinner for members and guests.

The Wilson Lake Area Association also prints and distributes 10,000 copies of their lake guide annually.
